David Ferrer’s First Grand Slam Final

Tomorrow will see an all Spanish final at Roland Garros and I for one cannot wait.

I love David Ferrer. He is one of my absolute favourite tennis players for a range of reasons, but the biggest being is his tenacity and absolute ability to run down everything that comes his way.

Yes, overcoming the King of Clay is going to be an enormous  challenge and Ferrer has a pretty average record against his younger compatriot, 19-4 Nadal’s way.

I wrote a post at the roar in January about Ferrer and whilst I understand why not everyone else shares my faith in him, I am so happy to see him in his first Grand Slam final.

Here’s the ling, by the way, http://www.theroar.com.au/2013/01/22/can-david-ferrer-go-all-the-way/ read down to the comments and I think my full meaning will be found.

Ferrer will have to play the game of his life tomorrow but this is not going to stop me and thousands of others cheering him on. He is without a doubt, one of the nicest and most likeable men on the ATP tour.

Go Ferru!
